1. When the medium pressure rises and the valve is operated, the pre-tightening specific pressure on the sealing surface decreases and the gasket rebounds. Typical structures of forced seal are flat gasket seal, surrounding gasket seal and toothed gasket seal. Usually used for low-pressure, medium-pressure and medium-small caliber steam regulating valves.

2. Before the self-tight sealing of the steam regulating valve is boosted, tighten the bolt to make the valve cover rise, so that the initial sealing condition is formed between the valve cover and the wedge gasket and between the valve body and the wedge gasket-the pre-tightening specific pressure on the sealing surface. When the medium pressure rises, the valve cover moves upward under the action of the medium pressure, and the sealing specific pressures between the steam control valve cover and the wedge gasket and between the valve body and the wedge gasket gradually increase with the increase of pressure.

It should be emphasized that in self-tight sealing, the medium pressure always tends to add pre-tight sealing specific pressure and improve sealing performance. The higher the medium pressure, the greater the specific pressure of the working seal and the better the sealing performance. According to this feature, self-sealing as a high-pressure sealing technology is often used in high-temperature and high-pressure large-diameter regulating valves.
