The "three-oriented" standards of China's valve industry, that is, the standards of serialization, generalization and standardization, stipulate that the flow direction of high-pressure valves should be from top to bottom, so the installation is directional.

Principle of high-pressure valve with low inlet and high outlet;

1. The high-pressure valve is designed to be low-inlet and high-outlet, so as to make the flow resistance small and save effort when opening the valve.

2. At the same time, when the valve is closed, the packing between the valve shell and the valve cover and the packing around the valve stem are not stressed, which will not be affected by the pressure and temperature of the medium for a long time, which can prolong the service life and reduce the probability of leakage.

3. In addition, the packing can be replaced or added when the valve is closed, which is convenient for maintenance.

However, there are some special cases where the high-pressure valve is low in AG:

1. High-pressure and high-pressure valves with a diameter greater than 100mm:

        Due to the poor sealing performance of large-diameter valves, when the high-pressure valve is closed by this method, the medium pressure acts on the disc to increase the sealing performance of the valve.

2. Two high-pressure valves connected in series on the bypass pipeline, and the second high-pressure valve requires "AG low outlet":

        In order to ensure the rigor of the valve in a maintenance cycle, two high-pressure valves in series are required for valves that are frequently opened and closed. For the bypass system, the installation of this bypass has the following functions:

        (1) balance the pressure before and after the main pipeline valve, so that it is convenient and labor-saving to open and reduce the wear of the main pipeline valve;

        (2) warm pipes with small flow during start-up;

        (3) on the main water supply pipeline, control the water supply flow to control the boiler pressure increase speed for boiler water pressure test. The high-pressure valves that bypass the medium flow direction are the primary valve and the secondary valve respectively. When the unit is in normal operation, the primary valve and the secondary valve are closed, and both of them are in direct contact with the medium. In order to prevent the packing between the valve shell and the valve cover of the secondary valve and the packing around the valve stem from being affected by medium and temperature for a long time, and the packing of the valve can be replaced during operation, the installation direction of the secondary valve is required to be "AG low outlet".

3. Boiler exhaust and vent high-pressure valves:

        High-pressure valves for boiler exhaust and venting are only used in the process of boiler startup and water supply, and the opening and closing frequency is small, but the working medium is often lost due to poor sealing. For this reason, some power plants install such high-pressure valves in the direction of "AG low outlet" in order to improve the tightness.

Generally, it is difficult to close the valve with low inlet and high outlet under large caliber and high pressure. If low inlet and high outlet are used under high pressure and large caliber, the valve stem will be easily deformed and bent under long-term water pressure, which will affect the safety and sealing of the valve. If the AG is lower, the diameter of the valve stem can be smaller, which will also save some costs for manufacturers and users.
